• 1. Before attempting to unblock the toilet, lay out newspaper and old towels on the floor around the bowl in case it overflows.

    For this method you will need to ensure the toilet is dry. Cover the toilet bowl with three layers of cling film, making sure the whole area is covered and air tight.
  • 2. Flush the toilet and air pressure will build up below the cling film.
  • 3. Slowly push down on the cling film to push the blockage down the u-bend.
  • 4. Hopefully the blockage should now move down the u-bend and the toilet will flush correctly.
