Beko Dishwashers

Correct loading of your dishwasher

Please make sure you follow these instructions fully. If you have any problems with carrying out this maintenance, please contact us.

Your dishwasher will give the best results if it is loaded properly. Check for specific details on your appliance in the user manual, but the steps below will give you general guidance.

Before loading the racks, remove all food residues from the crockery and empty liquids from glasses and containers. You should not normally need to rinse items under running water, but pre-soaking some items will help you to remove stuck-on food.

Make sure that you only put ‘dishwasher safe’ items in your appliance, donʼt try to wash items made of wood, tin, copper, horn or aluminium. Avoid putting anything absorbent in your dishwasher, such as cloths or sponges.

Arrange items so that they are held in place firmly and do not tip over; make sure that items have their openings facing downwards so that the water can reach every surface and flow freely.

Make sure that the lids, handles, trays and frying pans do not prevent the sprayer arms from rotating (after loading the appliance, always make sure that the sprayer arms can rotate freely).

1. Upper Rack
Load this rack with delicate and lightweight crockery such as glasses, cups, saucers and shallow bowls. Lightweight items such as plastic containers should be placed in the upper rack and arranged so that they cannot move during the washing cycle. Make sure that glasses do not touch each other.

Several dishwasher models are fitted with tip-up sectors which can be used in a vertical position when arranging smaller tea or dessert saucers or in a lower position to load bowls and food containers.

2. Lower Rack
The lower rack can hold pans, lids, dishes, salad bowls, cutlery etc. Large plates and lids should ideally be placed at the sides. Very soiled dishes and pans should be placed in the lower rack because in this sector the water sprays are stronger and allow a higher washing performance.

Several dishwasher models are fitted with tip up sectors which can be used in a vertical position (lower) to load pans and salad bowls easily.

3. Cutlery Basket
The basket is equipped with top grilles for improved cutlery arrangement. The cutlery basket should be positioned only at the front of the lower rack and used for smaller items. Knives and other utensils with sharp edges must be placed in the cutlery basket pointing downwards. Try to mix cutlery up so that spoons are amongst knives and forks to help prevent things sticking against each other.

4. Try to have items loaded evenly inside the dishwasher whenever you can.

When unloading your dishwasher, make sure the items have cooled first and empty the lower rack before the upper rack to prevent water dripping on to lower items (if heavy items are in the upper rack, make sure your dishwasher doesnʼt tip forward when you pull the rack out).

If you have misplaced or lost your user manual, you can download a replacement manual (please have your model number to hand).
