Being prepared in a power cut

Please make sure you follow these instructions fully. If you have any problems with carrying out this maintenance, please contact us.

If you lose power to your appliance, this information will help you keep the food fresher for longer. Always check the user manual for any special recommendations for your appliance.

1. In the case of a power cut, the appliance will stop working so cooling and freezing will stop. In the event of a long-term power loss to your appliance (anything over two hours, or so), try to avoid opening the doors to keep the temperature inside the appliance as stable as possible, for as long as possible.

  • An unopened fridge will keep food safe for a number of hours. (Refer to your user manual for more information on timings)
  • An unopened freezer will maintain its temperature for a number of hours. (Refer to your user manual for more information on timings)
  • Cooler boxes and bags can be used to maintain cold temperatures for an extended amount of time as well.
