My dishwasher is not filling with water
- Please make sure you follow these instructions fully. If you have any problems with carrying out this maintenance, please contact us.
If your dishwasher will not take in water, always check the user manual for specific details on your appliance. The steps below will help give you some general guidance. - 1.
Check that the mains water is connected and the tap is properly turned on (the ‘on’ position is normally when the tap handle is pointing at or in-line with the water supply hose).
- 2. Check that the water supply pipe is not kinked, trapped or crushed behind the dishwasher.
- 3.
Check that the filters or drain pipe are not blocked or damaged (some dishwashers may stop the water inlet if the drainage system becomes blocked). See the “Cleaning the filter” and “Connecting your dishwasher to the drain” topics for further information.
- 4. Some dishwashers may need to be ‘reset’ if the water supply has been interrupted (some appliances may also have a ‘no water’ alarm). Typically this is done by switching off the dishwasher and then switching on again after one minute and resetting the required program (after making sure that the water supply is connected and switched on), or there may be a dedicated reset function. Check the user manual for precise details on your appliance.
- If the above actions haven’t rectified your issue or you don’t feel confident to undertake them please go to our on-line repair booking page to arrange an engineer visit — https://www.domesticandgeneral.com/repairs.
If you have misplaced or lost your user manual, you can download a replacement manual (please have your model number to hand).
