    Check for specific details on your appliance in the user manual, but the steps below will give you general guidance.

    With some models of oven it is possible to remove the glass from the door to enable easier cleaning. If the oven glass is only lightly soiled you may be able to clean it without removing the glass from the door.

    Before trying to remove the glass from your oven, refer to your user manual for information on your specific model.

    Several specialist products are available through the Zanussi website (click here to view and purchase online) which can be used to keep your oven or cooker clean and will give you the best results.

    Warning: Always switch off the cookerʼs electrical supply at the mains switch before beginning this type of work and always make sure that your cooker has completely cooled down before starting any maintenance or cleaning.
  • 1. If your oven glass is only lightly soiled you might be able to clean it effectively without removing the glass.

    To clean the outside glass panels keep the doors closed, this will provide more stability and reduces stress on the doors and hinges. Clean the glass using hot soapy water and a cloth or sponge. For heavy soiling you may need to use a special oven glass cleaner, refer to your user manual for information on recommended cleaning products.
  • 2. To clean the glass panels on the inside of the oven compartment, firstly open the oven door fully, this will give you the maximum room in which to work.

    For light soiling clean the glass using hot soapy water and a cloth or sponge. For heavy soiling use a bicarbonate of soda and water mixture to clean. Leave the solution to soak in and soften any burnt on food and stains. Wipe clean using a damp cloth or sponge.

  • 3. For heavy soiling and burnt off grime you may need to remove the glass from the inside of the oven door to clean it effectively. On the top of the door push the release catch in to remove the top of the door. Once the top of the door is removed, the glass panels can be removed for cleaning. Make a note before removing the glass which side of the glass faces towards the oven.

    Note: Care should be taken with the glass panels when they are removed, if treated carelessly they can be broken and replacements may be expensive. Any occasion when the glass is removed should for as short a time as possible and the cleaning process should be considered and planned for before the glass is removed.
  • 4. Clean the removed glass in the sink using hot soapy water and a cloth. For more stubborn stains use a fine steel wool pad to clean.

    Remember which side of the glass is which (inside or outside), so to replace it the same way. Take extra care not to damage the inner surface of the glass as itʼs usually coated in a heat reflective coating.
  • 5. After cleaning, rinse and dry the glass with a soft cloth.
    Re-insert the glass back into the door, fit the door top in position and push it down until it clicks into it's final position.

    Note: Make sure the glass goes in the same way as it was removed, as the oven facing surface of the glass may be coated in a heat reflective coating.
