Connecting the ventilation pipe
- Please make sure you follow these instructions fully. If you have any problems with carrying out this maintenance, please contact us.
Vented dryers pump-out the warm, damp air and will need the outlet ventilation pipe installed to allow this air to be properly routed outside your home. Always make sure that the vent pipe is not crushed or squashed.
Always check the user manual for precise details on your own appliance, but the steps below will give you some general advice. - 1. For a permanent position, the ventilation hose can be fitted through the wall behind the appliance using a readily available kit. Try to have any hole in a wall or window as low down as possible and keep the vent pipe as short as possible (any ducting in a wall should slope slightly downwards to allow condensation to run out).
- 2. If the structure or position of your wall will not allow for ducting to be low down, the outlet can be higher up, but always check the user manual for the recommended maximum length of the vent pipe.
- 3. If you donʼt want to cut a hole through the wall and there is a window close by there are window kits available to allow the vent pipe to be semi-permanently fixed in position. Always check the user manual for the recommended maximum length of the vent pipe and try to have the window kit mounted low down if you can.
- 4. Alternatively, the vent pipe can hang out through an open window. Make sure that the open end of the tube is positioned pointing downwards to allow condensation to run out and prevent warm moist air from condensing in the room or back in the dryer.
- If you have misplaced or lost your user manual, you can download a replacement manual (please have your model number to hand).
