Check for specific details on your appliance in the user manual, but the steps below will give you general guidance.

Warning: Always switch off the cookerʼs electrical supply at the mains switch before beginning this type of work and always make sure that your cooker has completely cooled down before starting any maintenance or cleaning.
  • 1. Switch off the power to the cooker before you begin.

Wait for the oven to be completely cool before you attempt to change the bulb.
  • 2. Open the oven door and remove all shelves.
  • 3. Locate the interior oven light. This is usually at the back of the oven.
  • 4. Remove the bulb cover.

    Screw fit bulbs
Unscrew the glass cover to reveal the bulb. Screw fit bulb covers sometimes have tools which fit over the glass and allow better grip when unscrewing them.

NOTE: If the bulb cover is stuck, heating the oven a little may release the grease fixing it into position.
Be careful not to burn yourself on any part of the oven that may have become hot during this process.

    Halogen bulb
Halogen bulb covers may require a screwdriver to release them from the oven body.
  • 5. Remove the bulb.

    Screw fit bulbs

Twist the bulb out from the bulb socket.

    Halogen bulbs
Pull the bulb out from the socket (try and pay attention to the orientation of the pins when the bulb comes out of the socket, it doesnʼt matter which pin is in which hole, but it will help when replacing the bulb if you can remember where the holes are, particularly if the bulb holder is at an awkward angle and difficult to see).
  • 6. Replace the bulb.

    Screw fit bulbs
Twist the bulb into the socket.

    Halogen bulbs
These bulbs should be held using either gloves or a cloth, grease from your hands on the glass of the bulb may cause it to fail prematurely. Locate the holes the pins fit into and push firmly into place.
  • 7. Replace the bulb cover.

    Screw fit bulb

Twist the bulb cover back into place. Be careful not to over tighten, when the glass gets heated, it will expand and if itʼs too tight in the socket, it may shatter.
