The interior light of your appliance should switch on as soon as you open the door, but always check the user manual for your specific model in case there are any special settings such as a time delay.
  • 1.

Check the appliance is plugged into the mains and switched on.

Also see the “There is no power to the appliance” topic.
  • 2. Test the internal light pressure switch or button to see if there is anything restricting its movement or making it stick. You should be able to push the button in and out easily with your finger making the interior light come on and go off. Check the user manual for your appliance to see where this switch is located.
This button would normally be pushed by the door.
  • 3. The light bulb may need replacing, refer to the user manual for your particular appliance on how to do this (also see the “Changing the interior light bulb” topic). Make sure that you use the correct type of replacement bulb.
Note: always switch off the power when replacing light bulbs. Donʼt forget to switch on again when the new bulb is in place!
